Sinkhole Damage

Sinkholes can occur almost anywhere in Florida. They cause structural damage to any building nearby – cracks in the foundations and walls, which make a building dangerous. In many cases, sinkhole damage claims are denied by insurance companies, or delayed or under-valued. The company may try to justify their denial by ascribing your damage to soil settling (which isn’t covered). They may do this without having done any soil testing or geological testing at all. Or they may have this done by an engineer who is motivated to return findings that are favorable to the insurance company.

In some cases, the company will recommend inappropriate repair work, not based on the facts of the situation.
